New York City for the Frugal Single Girl NYC is hot right now. There are so many single people in NY from all over the world the streets are singing with all types of languages. I have been hanging around NYC with my girlfriends for the last 3 months and we are enjoying each neighborhood immensely. My Ride: Public transportation is the way to go. GET A METRO CARD to ride NYC's trains and buses. -Hop on the subway map and travel the city by train. It's the quickest and most affordable way to see the BIG APPLE. $ Fares are $2.00 one way. -Buses are great as well. They take a little longer to get around but there are plenty of them. Not only do you get around by you can see the city streets and people from throughout your bus ride. Fares are $2.00 one way. $ -Yellow cabs are all over the place so don't be shy hail them down especially if you don't like crowds. NYC cabs take credit cards now. $$

What to See: NYC has great double decker tour buses touring the city all day long. These buses have a wide range of tours to choose from. You can see our lady green yes she has always been green and now it counts. You can also go to the Empire State Building, cruise around NYC and see your ancestors at Ellis Island. OMG THE Shopping: I kept this component for last since there is so much of it and not enough time or room on the site for all the shopping in NYC. Street Vendors: The most important thing are the street vendors, they have great deals and don't forget to bargain, bargain and bargain. Also, try the coffee and rolls in the little silver truck you will see throughout the city. They are clean and cheap. Good food and affordable prices great for your food budget. $ SOHO: Chic and trendy shops, galleries and trattorias for the ones that want to be seen and may have a celebrity encounter. SOHO Bloomingdales, Sephora, Crate and Barrel and Adidas. $$$ NOHO: North of Houston, you and the girls can find some great shopping. You can find great sneakers stores showcasing the retro Reeboks and converse shoes. Wide selection of trucker hats, jeans and a lot of wanna be Ed Hardy garb. Visit the following stores to get what you need at affordable prices. $$ -Transit -Foot Locker -Century 21 Department Store - Further south, World Trade Center area West Village: Cool to shop and party in this area.
